This section covers screen flicker: loose FPC connectors and oxidized sockets (check the serial cable and PCB yellow cable); insufficient power supply (measure voltage and current with a multimeter and select stable working values); software causes (failed kernel upgrades also flicker, usually together with an unreadable SD card - upgrade the kernel via serial port); flicker after connecting the control board while still working (power interference; a large capacitor across VCC/GND filters surges, but locating the interference source is essential).
