How to fix a garbled screen

This section summarizes screen-corruption (huaping) solutions: obvious bright/dark pixels (max 3 non-obvious defects per panel, 10% defect-rate limit; clustered defects require factory replacement); one-third to one-fifth of the panel corrupted after power-on (wrong configuration mode, e.g. R0=02 for 800x480, R0=03 for 800x600); one specific image corrupted (database address 000000 overwritten or damaged FLASH chip, re-plan database addresses); mirrored or flipped display (oxidized FPC connector or R/L short); humidity causing line shorts (apply 704 silicone on the FPC); horizontal black line after pressing the touch panel (DIN/DOUT short causing the 0x72 command to be echoed back; check continuity with a multimeter and replace the cable).
